Oviraptor dinosaur video for kids.
See how the Oviraptor Dinosaur sponge grow out of a magic capsule within a few minutes. Amazing! Can even see the capsule softening and dropping away!
Oviraptor is a genus of small Mongolian theropod dinosaurs. Oviraptor was one of the most bird-like of the non-avian dinosaurs. Its rib cage, in particular, displayed several features that are typical of birds, including a set of processes on each rib that would have kept the rib cage rigid.
Its name is Latin for ‘egg taker’ or “egg seizer”, referring to the fact that the first fossil specimen was discovered atop a pile of what were thought to be Protoceratops eggs but later finds showed that the eggs in question probably belonged to Oviraptor itself, and that the specimen was actually brooding its eggs, when it died at the nest.
Oviraptor probably subsisted on mollusks and crustaceans, which it cracked open with its toothless beak. It’s also not inconceivable that Oviraptor supplemented its diet with the occasional plant or small lizard, though direct proof for this is lacking.
This simple water experiment not only helps in our parent-child bonding with Leeroy, it also humbles us that we do not know the names of these dinosaurs and gives us an opportunity to learn together. 🙂
