Ever felt the itch to dive into Solopreneurship, only to find yourself hesitating, waiting for the ‘perfect moment’?
Well, spoiler alert: there’s never a perfect moment. The best time to start your Solopreneur journey was yesterday.
Why? Because every day you delay is a day of potential progress lost in the realm of ‘what ifs’ and ‘could have beens’.
Ever wonder why they say ‘seize the moment’? Well, in the entrepreneurial world, it’s more than just a catchy phrase; it’s like the secret sauce for success. And with technology sprinting ahead like Usain Bolt on caffeine, there’s no better time than now to grab those opportunities and run with them.
Today, I’m going to share with you my youngest Solopreneur in the making, he’s 12 years young this year and I’ve been training and coaching him since he’s 8 years young on coding and robotics.
A bit of his background: He started learning robotics when he was 6 years young because he love little gadgets and electronics around him. He aspired to create his own start-up to solve real-life issues such as pollution and e-waste. This motivation to “save the world” is fueled by looking at the amount of waste and electronics that are thrown away.
He started his youtube channel last year, 2023 and have since uploaded 6 videos till date. He also created his portfolio website showcasing his passion, numerous awards (Singapore & Asian Schools Math Olympiad 2023, Gold award for SIMOC 2020 Math Master Mind, Student Leadership (Vice-Chairperson, Mass Brain Activities Club) etc) and more info about him (He love animals, nature, technology, and photography. He has three turtles, one of them is called Taco.)
The main takeaway from this sharing is the importance of setting goals and taking proactive steps to work towards them. The videos in WisdomWondersWhispers channel can help in cultivating growth, resilient mindset and learn wisdom from successful and wise individuals, but we still need to take the necessary actions.
By establishing clear objectives, we give ourselves direction and motivation to pursue our aspirations.
However, merely setting goals is not enough; it’s the actions we take to move closer to those goals that truly make a difference.
Whether it’s breaking down big goals into smaller, manageable tasks, seeking guidance and support from mentors/coaches, or staying committed and disciplined in our efforts, every step we take brings us closer to achieving our dreams. This underscores the power of intentionality and action in shaping our future and realizing our potential.
His biggest privileged position is that his family is financially comfortable and fully supportive of investing in his skills and future endeavors. In a world where access to resources is increasingly abundant, particularly with the wealth of free educational materials available online, there’s virtually no excuse for not pursuing one’s goals.
Some of the business ideas that he can leverage on his coding and robotics skills:
- YouTube Channel Creation: Start a YouTube channel focused on coding tutorials, robotics projects, or tech product reviews. Monetize the channel through advertising revenue, sponsorships, and merchandise sales.
- Affiliate Marketing Blog: Create a niche blog focused on topics related to coding, robotics, or technology. Write in-depth reviews and guides for products or services in your niche, and earn commissions by promoting affiliate links.
- Ebook Authoring: Write and self-publish ebooks on platforms like Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), covering topics in the area of expertise or interest. This could include coding tutorials, robotics guides, or digital marketing strategies.
- Online Coding Courses: Create and sell online courses teaching coding skills to beginners, intermediate, or advanced learners. Specialize in specific programming languages or technologies.
- Original Games: Create original games suitable for families, friends, or gaming communities. Design innovative gameplay mechanics, intriguing combinations, and visually striking artwork to differentiate your game from others on the market. (Similar to the path the former Google employee took)
