– Giant balls of super hot glowing gas just like our sun.
– They look very small because they are really, really far away.

 

How to have a closer look at the stars since they are so far away?
– Use telescope.

 

What are the people who study stars called?
– Scientist who study stars are known as astronomer.
– They use all kinds of different telescopes to discover all sort of cool things about the stars.

 

 

Some types of stars
– A lot of stars are yellow like our sun.

– There are also huge blue stars.

– And ginormous (extremely large) red stars.

 

Galaxy
– Sometimes we thought that we are looking at 1 star, but they are actually a whole lots of stars together, known as galaxy.

 

– On a very clear night, away from the city light, you might see a whitish stripe across the sky.
– It looks like someone spill milk across the night sky.
– What you are seeing are millions of stars in the galaxy that we are in.
– The galaxy we are in is known as milky way.
