Parasaurolophus is a genus of ornithopod dinosaur that lived in what is now North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, about 76.5–74.5 million years ago. It was a herbivore that walked both as a biped and a quadruped.
Parasaurolophus has duck bill and is notable for its elongated tube-like crest which it uses to emit its haunting, beautiful cries.
Researchers estimate that the Parasaurolophus was around 9.5 metres (31 feet) in length and weight around 2.7 tons.
